Recruitment week is designated for potential new members who would like to join the Polyidus Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi. This allows potential new members the opportunity to learn more about who we are and our mission as a Chapter. A potential must come to three of the five events in order to be extended a bid (determined by the Recruitment Chairs on the flier). If there are conflicts in a persons schedule and they can not come to three of the five events, please contact one of the recruitment chairs listed below. If you have any questions about how to join, please do not hesitate to reach out to our Recruitment Chairs or anyone who is a member of the Polyidus Chapter of Alpha Rho Chi.

Q&A - More About Pledging

Who are we?

We are a National Co-Ed Fraternity for Architecture and the allied arts, open to all majors.

Do I have to be an architecture major to join?

No, while APX is an architecture fraternity, the members may be from any major as long as the majority of brother are studying architecture.

How many events do I need to attend?

In order to be considered for a bid you must attend a majority of recruitment events, traditionally 3 out of 5. If you are unable to do so due to an unforeseen event or scheduling issues, contact us!

What does APX stand for?

APX is comprised of the Greek letters Alpha Rho Chi, which are the first three letters of the Greek word for architecture, ἀρχιτέκτων (architéktōn).

How does the Big/Little process work?

If you get a bid and accept it, you will later receive a Big to help you through the pledging process. Get to know some brothers during events, as you will be asked to pick five of the Big/Little selection process.

How is APX different from other fraternities?

APX is a professional co-ed fraternity, while most other fraternities you may have heard of are social fraternities. APX puts a big emphasis on academics and philanthropy.

How much of a time commitment is pledging?

The time commitment for pledging consists of interviews with 22 brothers, 10 events, and a pledge project, so be prepared for the time commitment. (These variables may vary depending on the Pledge Educators)

Where does "Polyidus" come from?

All chapters are named after ancient Greek architects. We chose Polyidus in honor of Southern Polytechnic University (our founding university).
